Erin Borcherding Bauer grew up in Posey County where she attended North Posey High School. She attended the University of Southern Indiana and majored in History with a minor in Anthropology. She graduated from USI in 3½ years with a 4.0 GPA. She then attended law school at Indiana University – Bloomington. While in law school, she served as Staff Editor of the Federal Communications Law Journal and became a certified Domestic Relations Mediator. She was very active in IU’s Domestic Relations Mediation Clinic, serving as mediator in dozens of cases and later as a mentor to other students.

Upon graduation from law school, Erin returned to Evansville and became an associate attorney at Barber & Shoulders, LLP. In 2011, she became partner of Barber & Bauer, LLP. She has a general practice and regularly handles cases in the areas of employment law, Social Security Disability, short-term and long-term disability, family law, personal injury, estate planning, general litigation, and appeals. She has successfully tried jury trials and argued in the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She has published opinions from both the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Seventh Circuit. She has been named as an Indiana Super Lawyer Rising Star. She has served on the Evansville Bar Association (“EBA”) Board of Directors for six years and is currently the President of the EBA.

Erin is married to Seth Bauer who teaches at Harrison High School and recently retired from coaching high school sports after coaching for twenty (20) years. When Erin is not practicing law, she enjoys traveling with her husband and their two children, Aiden and Reagan, and attending sporting events.
